Like The Perils of False Reasoning Energy Entanglement and Ergotropy is a different take on concepts that appear in The Science in The Fiction.
Unlike the other concepts – which came from a knowing – this one came about as a result of my approach to a plot device..
The Scene
The heroine is in a significant amount of pain. Strykus, an Energy Tracker wants to help.
An Energy Tracker is a Light Being who perceives energy residue to discern past events.
Again?
Just as with previous pieces that appear in The Science in The Fiction I found myself reading a scientific article that mirrored my writing. What is different about The Perils of False Reasoning and Energy Entanglement and Ergotropy is that science – or perhaps nature – is mirroring something I made up.
Unlike The Perils of False Reasoning Energy, Entanglement and Ergotropy is drawn almost entirely from imagination.
The Perils of False Reasoning was drawn primarily from education and my experience in tech.
So when I came across the article I was surprised but also amused.
Another one? Seriously?
Validation
I published the Metatron’s Army series beginning in 2016. 8 years and 13 books later I came across a science article that grabbed my attention because it mirrored a plot device I created from imagination.
I drew on the Law of Conservation of Energy as the scientific underpinning to my idea.
I’ve included multiple passages from the article and from my book Analysis below.
From Quantum Batteries Could Discharge More Power Than They Store from New Scientist published October 29, 2024. (link as of October 30, 2024)
“If [a battery and a device] have some information about each other, if they are correlated, then sometimes your device will be able to get more than the battery gives,”
Here, the device and the battery don’t become correlated simply by one being plugged into the other. Instead, they have to start off in a special shared quantum state, like being entangled, which guarantees that the way the quantum state of each changes during charging always depends on information that they “know” about each other.
While traditional batteries can give off almost all of their charge, quantum batteries do not always manage to pass on all of their ergotropy. But use a quantum process to make the behaviour of the battery and the device inseparable, and it’s as if you can get a AAA battery to produce the power of a larger AA battery.
For every operation that such a battery would power, it is useful to know what kind of correlations could make the process more efficient, as well as how much energy it would take to put those correlations in place, he says.
From Analysis
“What did you do?” she managed.
“I strengthened the energetic connection.”
“You had to have done more than that. I’m –.” She let out a long breath. “The pain is totally gone.”
“I strengthened the connection. You did the rest.”
“What did I do?”
“You withdrew what you needed to shore up your own reserves.”
“When you connected to me you worked to synchronize your energetic equilibrium to mine even as mine sought to do the same. Since I was in no pain and my energetic field is stronger I naturally lent you my strength. You drew it in in order to bring yourself to my level, free of pain.”
“Because it is a symbiotic relationship Princess. As you pulled from me you would have become aware of my weakness and would have tried to give back.”
He’d invaded her space on purpose. It meant their energetic fields would touch. She would instinctively remember who he was to her and begin the draw.
This is why it’s a good idea to be aware of your environment and do your best to avoid toxic situations. Simply put? They can attenuate you to their lower frequency, taking from your mood and energy in the process.
