For several months I’ve looked out to the back yard and thought “I need a big beautiful wind chime.” I slid the idea to the mental back burner and vowed to keep a lookout. The idea was that if I saw one I loved, I’d buy it.
Right before Christmas we were at Bed, Bath & Beyond. As I was walking toward the checkout I spotted a pretty wind chime. It was metal and fairly large and made a pretty sound. I actually liked it. Something told me to put it back. Reluctantly, I did.
Each day I looked out and mentally acknowledged that I wanted a wind chime in the back yard. I even went so far as to decide it had to be metal instead of wood and I reaffirmed I wanted a larger one.
During the holidays I saw a friend and told him I was looking for a wind chime for my yard. I then emailed another friend, telling her it was part of the New Year’s Feng Shui implementing I’d do.
Three days ago, while my family was at the hardware store, I went over to the Home & Garden aisle. My intent was to buy a wind chime if I found one I liked. Well, I was summarily unimpressed with the selection and left without buying one.
Today, we received a late Christmas gift from some dear friends. I was worried when, upon handling the box, I could hear parts moving around. Had something broken during the shipping?
I opened the wrapping and to my delight, discovered that we had been given a beautiful large, metal wind chime!
As I sat here smiling, I realized that I’d manifested my desire. It didn’t matter that it was a gift. How the desire or goal is manifested isn’t as relevant as the fact that it did.
I can now count this as a success which will fuel my optimism when working on another, potentially larger goal.
So, if it was a gift – did I manifest it?
Definitely!
